Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association
Advocating for Florida’s
independent dealers.
Your dealership. Your livelihood. Your voice. FIADA works to protect, promote and preserve Florida’s independent automobile industry through advocacy for fair legislation and regulation.
From Tallahassee to Washington, our goal is to help policymakers understand how their decisions affect independent businesses and the customers who depend on them.
A voice for your business
Policy decisions reach your dealership every day.
Licensing. Titles and registration. Vehicle repair. Financing. Compliance. The rules governing our industry influence how you operate, what it costs to do business and how you serve your customers.
FIADA brings the independent dealer perspective to those conversations. Member experiences help explain the practical effects of proposed policies—and why fair, workable rules matter to Florida’s dealerships and communities.

Advocacy in action • 2026 recap
FIADA at the NIADA National Policy Conference
September 28–29, 2026 | Washington, D.C.
FIADA leaders joined independent dealers from across the country in Washington to bring our industry’s concerns to Capitol Hill.
The 2026 NIADA National Policy Conference paired policy briefings and preparation with a day of advocacy. Discussions focused on repair access, catalytic converter theft, CFPB accountability and credit-reporting liability reform.
For FIADA, the trip was also an opportunity to listen, exchange experiences and strengthen relationships with colleagues working on many of the same challenges. Between conference sessions and time around the city, our team shared a common purpose: representing Florida’s independent dealers.
Thank you to the FIADA leaders who contributed their time and perspective. Their participation is part of an advocacy effort that continues throughout the year.
The conference’s four national priorities
Right to repair
Support the REPAIR Act and access to the vehicle data and tools needed for independent repair.
Catalytic converter theft
Support the PART Act to address catalytic converter theft.
CFPB accountability
Advance legislation focused on oversight and reform of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Credit-reporting liability
Advance the FCRA Liability Harmonization Act addressing liability under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
These priorities reflect the September 2026 conference agenda. Legislative status and priorities may change.
